With a digital greeting, Federal Minister Hubertus Heil opened the third awards ceremony of the ‘AI is what we make it!’ idea contest, which saw 27 promising ideas honoured at re:publica on 5 June 2023. The awards ceremony was presented by Nermin Fazlic, Director-General for Basic Policies at the Federal Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs (BMAS), who is temporarily tasked with standing in for State Secretary Lilian Tschan.

During the virtual pitch on 18 April, 40 project teams presented their ideas for AI that benefits the common good. Boosting social participation, establishing accessibility, improving working conditions and much more – participants had the opportunity to show how AI can also be used for social applications.

Project ideas for the third round of the ‘AI is what we make it!’ idea contest could be submitted until 13 February, 2023. The digital pitch continues on 18 April, 2003 - more information is available here.
