With a digital greeting, Federal Minister Hubertus Heil opened the third awards ceremony of the ‘AI is what we make it!’ idea contest, which saw 27 promising ideas honoured at re:publica on 5 June 2023. The awards ceremony was presented by Nermin Fazlic, Director-General for Basic Policies at the Federal Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs (BMAS), who is temporarily tasked with standing in for State Secretary Lilian Tschan.

Our funding guidelines are now available. Cross-sector and/or interdisciplinary project groups can now apply for project funding of up to €500,000 through the CIP funding programme ‘Civic Innovation’ – for use in implementing their AI project! Submit your expression of interest by 20 June 2023!

During the virtual pitch on 18 April, 40 project teams presented their ideas for AI that benefits the common good. Boosting social participation, establishing accessibility, improving working conditions and much more – participants had the opportunity to show how AI can also be used for social applications.
