Start of a series of workshops on tangible and explainable AI for the common good

When producing technical solutions, skills in the area of explainable AI are important not only from a regulatory and liability perspective – they also promote understanding, media skills and faith in AI-based applications. Research is being conducted on various methods and solutions for explainable artificial intelligence (XAI) as part of the Open Innovation Lab project supported by the Policy Lab Digital, Work & Society at the German Federal Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs (BMAS).

Would you, too, like to know how responsible and wholly sustainable use can be made of AI? If so, seize the opportunity to participate in the paper reading group. Various research articles on the topic will be presented and jointly discussed during the workshops.

The series of workshops kicks off on 21 February 2024, when the first meeting on the topic of tangible and explainable AI for the common good will be held. Additional dates will follow and will be announced on the project website at go-ki.org.

The meeting will start with a brief introduction of the project and of the Center for Tangible Artificial Intelligence and Digitalization (ZEKI), where the project is based.

This time, the discussion will revolve around the paper written by Vera Liao and Jennifer Wortman Vaughan entitled ‘AI Transparency in the Age of LLMs: A Human-Centered Research Roadmap’.
