  • Round 3

The third round of the idea contest has started!

Do you have an idea for how artificial intelligence (AI) can be used for the common good? Then you’ve come to the right place as ‘AI is what we make it’ is the motto of our idea contest, which is now entering its third round. We are once again on the lookout for project ideas that aim to develop and implement AI technologies for societal and social progress. Register, become a part of the community, find the partners you need in order to realise your idea and submit your idea directly via the platform by 26 January 2023 13 February 2023 (submission deadline extended).

The most promising project drafts will be selected from among all the entries and the idea creators will be invited to pitch their ideas. A panel of experts will decide which ideas will be recognised and then supported in their further development into a workable concept both non-financially (with advisory and workshop opportunities) and financially (with prize money of up to 20,000 euros).

What do you need to do?

  • Register for the Civic Innovation Platform  here.
  • Create a project idea, find like-minded people, connect with them and further develop the idea together with your team partners.
  • Then submit your project idea to the idea contest directly via the platform.

Who is the idea contest aimed at?

We are looking for anyone who is seeking to develop and implement AI applications for the common good with their project ideas, be they a local authority, an administrative, research or educational institution, an association or club, a company (in particular SMEs and start-ups) or a citizen.

What are the conditions of entry?

It is important that the essence of your project idea is an AI application for the common good with a clear correlation with the areas of action of BMAS. Your team must also be interdisciplinary and/or cross-sectoral. To find out what exactly we mean here and for additional information regarding the conditions of entry, please see our FAQ.
